Episode 3: The Prison Inside
For three days, Daniel refused to leave his room.
Peace became worried.
Michael kept calling.
Anita sent messages.
Mama Grace prayed constantly.
But Daniel shut everyone out.
Late one night, while staring into darkness, painful memories flooded his mind.
The day armed robbers attacked their house when he was younger.
The day his father died suddenly from a heart attack.
The years of bullying in secondary school.
Fear had entered his life slowly… and never left.
Then suddenly, Daniel heard a soft voice in his heart.
“You are not weak.”
He looked around quickly.
Nobody was there.
Again the voice came.
“Fear survives when you keep running.”
Tears filled Daniel’s eyes.
For the first time, he realized something shocking.
The real prison was not the abandoned building.
It was not the whispers.
The prison was inside him.
The following evening, Daniel finally returned to church.
Pastor Samuel smiled warmly.
“I knew you would come back.”
Daniel lowered his head.
“I’m tired of being afraid.”
The pastor placed a hand on his shoulder gently.
“Fear grows stronger in isolation. That’s why you must stop fighting alone.”
Soon, the entire youth group surrounded Daniel in prayer.
Michael held his shoulder firmly.
Peace cried quietly.
Anita prayed passionately.
Suddenly Daniel felt strange heaviness around him.
Terrifying images flashed through his mind rapidly.
Failure.
Death.
Shame.
Loneliness.
The fear was fighting desperately.
Daniel collapsed to his knees crying loudly.
“No more!” he shouted.
The atmosphere changed instantly.
Peace flooded his heart.
Warmth replaced terror.
Then Pastor Samuel declared boldly:
“The chains are broken!”
And for the first time in years…
Daniel felt free.
