Episode 2: The Face of Fear
The next morning, Daniel looked exhausted. Dark circles covered his eyes.
Peace sat beside him during breakfast.
“You really need help,” she said softly.
“I’m serious, Peace. Something touched me last night.”
Mama Grace sighed deeply.
“Daniel, fear can make the mind imagine dangerous things.”
But Daniel knew how he felt.
Later that day at work, his boss, Mr. Williams, called him into the office.
“Daniel, your designs are excellent,” the older man said. “But your confidence needs work.”
Daniel looked down silently.
Mr. Williams kept going.
“I recommended you for a leadership project three times. And three times, you avoided it.”
“I’m not ready yet, sir.”
The man leaned forward.
“Or maybe you’re just afraid.”
Those words stayed with Daniel all day.
That evening, Michael called him.
“Bro, there’s a youth prayer gathering tonight. You’re coming.”
Daniel immediately declined. “I don’t like crowds.”
“That’s exactly why you should come.”
After some pushing, Daniel finally agreed.
The church felt warm and peaceful. Young people worshipped passionately as soft music played in the hall.
Daniel sat quietly at the back, next to Anita, who surprisingly went to the same church.
“You came?” she whispered excitedly.
Michael laughed. “This is a miracle.”
Daniel managed a weak smile.
Then Pastor Samuel stepped onto the altar.
As he started preaching, the mood shifted.
“Many people are physically free,” he said calmly, “but mentally trapped.”
Daniel felt uneasy immediately.
“Fear,” the pastor added, “is one of the enemy’s biggest weapons.”
Daniel swallowed nervously.
Suddenly, Pastor Samuel stopped speaking and looked straight at him.
“Young man in the black shirt.”
Daniel froze.
“For years, fear has held back your destiny.”
The whole church went silent.
“You hear voices at night. You see darkness around you. But God says tonight is the start of your freedom.”
Daniel’s heart pounded fiercely.
How did this man know?
Suddenly, a woman sitting near the back screamed and collapsed.
People rushed to her in panic.
Then she pointed directly at Daniel.
Her voice sounded strange.
“He belongs to fear!”
Daniel’s blood ran cold.
The woman started laughing strangely.
“He can never escape!”
Daniel panicked and ran straight out of the church into the heavy rain.
But this time…
The footsteps followed him home.
