EPISODE 4 – Echoes of the Serpent
Now fugitives, the trio fled toward the DRC, to the ruins of ancient Ikota. As they crossed borders and jungles, Amara and Kellan grew closer. Beneath the fear, there was warmth.
“You never told me why you’re helping,” Amara asked during a campfire night.
Kellan stared into the flames. “Zuberi was like a brother. He believed in you… said you were the key. I owe him. And now… I care.”
Amara reached out, brushing his hand. “I care too.”
The moment was broken by Keon’s abrupt return. “I found the temple.”
Inside the ruins, the walls pulsed with energy. Glyphs on the walls told of Naraka, sealed by Queen N’Zinga with the help of The Necklace Bearer, chosen by fate every 200 years.
Suddenly, Amara collapsed, eyes glowing black. A voice spoke from within her:
“The time is near. The blood must be spilled.”
Keon stepped forward, chanting. Kellan shoved him. “What are you doing?!”
“She’s the vessel!” Keon shouted. “If she dies, the seal holds!”
Kellan stood over Amara protectively. “I’m not losing her.”
A blast of energy threw them apart. The necklace cracked.
Then, Zuberi appeared—alive, half-possessed, his face torn between man and shadow.
“It’s begun.”
Lesson: Love and Loyalty Give Strength, but Choices Shape Destiny
Episode 4, Echoes of the Serpent, teaches that even in the face of fear, uncertainty, and impossible choices, loyalty and love can give us the courage to stand firm. Kellan’s refusal to sacrifice Amara shows that some bonds are worth more than any prophecy or power. Yet, it also reminds us that destiny is shaped not just by fate, but by the choices we make when everything is at stake. In the end, protecting what we love may come at great risk—but it is often the truest measure of who we are.
