Episode 3 – The River Crossing
The group barely escaped the wolves by climbing onto a rocky ledge and waiting until the animals lost interest. Exhausted but alive, they continued their journey the next morning.
According to the map, the next challenge lay ahead—a wide, rushing river that blocked their path. The water roared angrily, carrying fallen branches and rocks in its current.
“There’s no bridge,” Mary pointed out. “And if we try to swim, we’ll be swept away.”
Samuel scratched his head. “Well, I’m not turning back now.”
Grace examined the riverbank. “There’s a way. If we tie the ropes to those tall trees, we can make a line to hold onto while we cross.”
Working together, they set up the rope. One by one, they crossed, clinging tightly as the water splashed and pulled at their legs. Samuel almost lost his grip halfway, but David pulled him to safety.
On the other side, they collapsed on the grass, laughing nervously at their close call. But their relief didn’t last long.
From the bushes, a man in torn clothes appeared, holding a lantern. His face was rugged, and his eyes suspicious.
“You shouldn’t be here,” he said. “Turn back before it’s too late.”
“Who are you?” David asked.
“Someone who entered Eldoria many years ago,” the man whispered. “And barely escaped.”
Before they could ask more, the man vanished into the trees.
Shaken but determined, the group pressed on. The city of Eldoria was close.
Lesson:
