EPISODE 4 – The Dark Side
Desperate, Rita visited Dr. Leone, a psychiatrist who specialized in dissociative disorders. She told her everything — the blackouts, the strange behavior, the crimes.
Dr. Leone listened carefully, then said, “Rita, it sounds like you have a suppressed personality. A second self. She emerges during your blackouts and acts without your control.”
Rita’s throat tightened. “So there’s… another me?”
“Yes,” Dr. Leone said. “And she doesn’t share your morals. From your description, she’s violent. Dangerous.”
That night, Rita stood in front of her bathroom mirror. Her own reflection looked back at her… and then smirked.
“You can’t stop me,” the reflection said in her voice.
“You’re not real,” Rita whispered.
“Oh, I’m real,” the other Rita said. “I’m the part of you that acts. That survives. You’ve kept me buried for years. But now… I’m free.”
“You’re a monster,” Rita said through clenched teeth.
The reflection tilted her head. “Maybe. But I’m also you. And deep down… you want me here.”
A chill ran down Rita’s spine.
The next morning, Detective Harris got a call about another assault. Witnesses swore it was the same tall woman with dark hair.
Harris knocked on Rita’s apartment door, but no one answered. Inside, Rita was staring at the mirror — and the smirking woman staring back.
The reflection’s lips moved. “You’re mine now.”
And for the first time… Rita didn’t resist.
THE END
Lesson Summary:
This episode teaches that inner struggles and suppressed emotions, when left unaddressed, can lead to destructive behaviors. True freedom begins when one acknowledges their weaknesses, seeks help, and confronts the darkness within. Ignoring the problem only gives it more power, but facing it opens the path to healing and restoration.
