EPISODE 2 – The Mirror

The blackouts got worse.

One Friday, Rita woke up fully dressed in her bathtub, the water still running. Another morning, she found her fingernails caked with dirt and scratches on her arm she couldn’t explain.

Angela cornered her during lunch at the hospital cafeteria.
“You’re scaring me, Rita. What’s happening?”
“I’m fine,” Rita lied.

Daniel joined them, his voice casual but concerned. “You’re not fine. You’re starting to look like one of my patients in the ambulance. You need a holiday.”

That night, Rita decided to find out what was happening. She set her phone to record herself while she slept.

The next morning, she watched the footage. At 2:17 AM, she saw herself sit up in bed. But her posture was stiff, her face cold. She walked to the mirror, stared into it for several seconds, and whispered:
“You’re weak. I’ll take it from here.”

Rita’s stomach dropped. That wasn’t her.

Lesson: Denial Delays Healing, but Facing the Truth Opens the Path to Recovery

In Episode 2 – The Mirror, Rita’s worsening condition and her choice to hide it from those who care about her highlight a powerful lesson: ignoring serious internal struggles only gives them more control. Rita’s decision to finally seek the truth — by recording herself — reveals a terrifying reality, but it is also a crucial turning point. The episode teaches us that while facing the truth about ourselves can be frightening, it is the first and most important step toward healing, protection, and ultimately regaining control.
