EPISODE 3 – Betrayals and Bonds

Their journey took them to Addis Ababa, where a surviving descendant of the Ikota tribe, Professor Keon Fikru, had agreed to meet. He was a tall, charismatic scholar with a mysterious past and piercing green eyes.

“You’re wearing the curse,” Keon said as soon as he saw Amara. “Foolish… or destined?”

“I didn’t choose this,” she snapped.

He handed her a tattered book with strange symbols. “The necklace is a seal, forged to imprison a primordial being known as Naraka. If it breaks… he returns.”

As the trio studied the text, Kellan grew uneasy. He didn’t trust Keon—too charming, too prepared.

“Where did you get this book?” Kellan asked.

Keon smiled. “I’m not the only one who wants to see the end of the curse. But not all wish to stop it.”

Before Kellan could respond, the lights in the library flickered, then exploded. Armed men stormed the room, dressed in black with red serpent insignias.

“Get down!” Kellan shouted, shielding Amara.

Gunfire erupted. Keon vanished into the shadows. When the chaos ended, three attackers lay unconscious. Keon returned, blood on his knuckles.

“Someone betrayed us,” Kellan growled.

Keon simply said, “It wasn’t me. But if we don’t leave now, we’re all dead.”

Lesson: Trust Is Earned, Not Assumed—And Not Everyone’s Purpose Aligns

Episode 3, Betrayals and Bonds, reveals that in a world filled with ancient secrets and powerful artifacts, alliances can be as dangerous as enemies. Not everyone who walks beside you shares your purpose. Keon’s cryptic actions and sudden disappearances show that even those who seem helpful may have their own hidden motives. The lesson here is to stay vigilant—trust must be built through consistency, not charm or shared goals. When destinies collide, discerning friend from foe can mean the difference between survival and destruction.
