Episode 2: Raindrops and Shared Umbrellas
One moody Thursday evening, the sky grew darker than usual, and by the time fellowship ended, rain was pouring heavily. Zara stood by the chapel entrance, hugging her books. She had left her umbrella in the hostel.
She debated running back in the rain when a familiar voice called out.
“Zara?”
She turned. It was Daniel, holding a black umbrella.
“You’re stuck too?” he asked.
She nodded shyly.
“Let’s go. I’ll walk you.”
She hesitated but eventually followed. They walked side by side, their arms occasionally brushing, both pretending not to notice.
As the rain fell in soft rhythms around them, they talked about random things—how she missed her mum’s cooking, how he struggled with Thermodynamics in 300 level, how beautiful the rain made the campus look at night.
When they reached her hostel gate, Zara stopped.
“Thank you… for the cover,” she said.
“My pleasure,” he replied. “Next time, don’t forget your umbrella.”
She smiled, and he hesitated, as if wanting to say more. But he didn’t.
She entered her room and leaned on the door. Her heart was doing backflips.
Daniel, walking back slightly drenched, smiled to himself. He felt something warm and confusing in his chest.
Maybe… just maybe…
Lesson: Sometimes, Love Begins in the Smallest Moments
This story reminds us that love doesn’t always arrive with grand gestures or dramatic confessions. Sometimes, it blossoms quietly—in shared umbrellas, simple conversations, and gentle kindness. In a world often rushing by, it’s in these small, thoughtful moments that true connections are formed and hidden feelings begin to grow.
